Les Nouvelles Terrasses de l’été à Paris

La Gare
This Parisian institution has been treated to a makeover – in part due to its fresh new décor, brought to life by interior designer Laura Gonzalez. La Gare is now decorated in a Mediterranean style, coloured by Pierre Frey’s floral fabrics and adorned with suspended pottery designed by Beatrice Markovitch and a series of mural paintings by artist Claire de Quenetain. New chef, Gaston Acurio, whose Peruvian cuisine has already seduced the night birds who frequent Manko is changing things up in the kitchen… This brand-new look is living proof that the 16th arrondissement is undergoing something of a culinary revolution. Don’t miss raised terrace – an ideal spot for soaking up the first sun rays of the summer.

Au top
Just a few steps away from its first address, the famous Café La Perle, Au Top is the last culinary project by Jean-Philippe in the Marais. Perched above apartment buildings, this charming rooftop hotspot does justice to the Mediterranean style cuisine it serves. With chefs Christophe Rousseau and Loic Clee in the kitchen, Au Top offers grilled sea bream, Angus beef ribs, roasted artichokes and delicious signature couscous dishes. You can also swing by for savoury brunch on Sundays. All of this is set against a 360- degree view of Paris.

CoCo
After opening Loulou just a stone’s throw from the Louvre, and Apicius rue d’Artois and Giraffe a few steps from the Eiffel Tower, Paris Society group has opened new hotspot CoCo, which channels a strong Miami beach vibe, with its tasselled lamps, velvet dressed banquettes and giant swaying palm trees. Decorated by Corinne Sachot, this Art Deco temple offers classic yet effective fare: ripened tomatoes with burrata, fresh green asparagus, sea bream ceviche, creamy linguine with roasted blue lobster, sea bass, farm-fresh chicken and more. All to be savoured inside or on the superb terrace just a few steps from Opera Garnier.

Aux Crus de Bourgogne
Already at the helm of Les Marches in the 16th arrondissement, which has revived the Relais Routiers and Aux Bon Crus label with great panache, Félix et Margot Dumant have opened Aux Crus de Bourgogne. Finding their roots in one of Montorgueil’s oldest institutions, where Andre Malraux was a frequenter, the brother-sister duo has proven, yet again, the timelessness of French bistro cuisine. With terrace chairs dressed in bright red, velvet-covered benches, and giant mirrors, diners can discover the menu in this early 20th-century style bistro. In the kitchen, the best of the French classics are on the stove: pâté en croute, white asparagus with a light eggy vinaigrette, Burgundy snails, frogs legs, steak-fries, chicken with white wine and morel mushroom sauce, chocolate mousse, Suzette crêpes… Needless to say, this bistro is a safe bet.

Le Brach
On the first floor of the Philippe Starck decorated hotel, opened in 2018, this new terrace opens in perfect tandem with the sunny weather. Adorned with garlands and cushioned benches, this location evolves as the day goes by. From 8 am, there are golden baked croissants and fresh pressed juices at the ready. During the day, chef Adam Bentalha offers a series of small plates influenced by the cuisine of Asia and the South Sea islands (dim sum with hints of truffle, red tuna poke bowls and mochi ice cream to name but a few…). Toward the end of the evening, enjoy sipping on a perfectly shaken cocktail.

UNO
Designed by David-Olivier Descombes, UNO is the new Italian restaurant by David Soussan (Cucuzza, Mercier), brought to life through collaboration with Tripletta, the expert on authentic Naples-style pizza. With chef Julien Chevallier (ex Semilla and Justine) in the kitchen, you’ll find specialities straight out of the boot: creamy burrata, vitello tonnato, minestrone, fresh pasta made in house… But above all, you can expect fabulous pizzas, ranging from the simplest (Margherita) to the most noble (l’Aldo Maccione with truffles and prosciutto di parma). The icing on the cake? The large terrace, surrounded by the Pinault Foundation, overlooking le Jardin des Halles and Saint-Eustache in the distance.
